- What is a good typing speed?
- Around 40 words per minute is ordinary, 60 to 70 is comfortably fast, and above 90 is unusual outside people who type for a living. Accuracy matters more than raw speed: 60 words per minute at 98 percent beats 80 at 90, because fixing mistakes costs more time than making them saved.
- Are the words in my language?
- Yes. Each published language has its own pool of everyday words, because typing English on a German keyboard measures your English rather than your typing.
- Why did my score drop compared to another site?
- Most differences come from how errors are counted. Here only correct characters count towards the score and every keystroke counts towards accuracy, which is stricter than tests that simply ignore mistyped words.
- Is my typing sent anywhere?
- No. The words are generated in your browser and what you type is compared there and then discarded. Nothing is stored and nothing leaves your device.
